Cubeball by Michael Leon GENRE: Sci-fi BLURB: A naturally gifted ex-national champion and a savant with a computer-like mind compete against the world’s best in the 22nd century’s most popular sport – CUBEBALL – the chess-like, technology-enhanced, snooker of the future where the world stage is dominated by gambling, drugs and massive audiences. Buy link: Amazon Kindle * BookPOD * iBooks EXCERPT Jules’ gaze emboldened Mickey to reveal his special gift to her. He strode confidently to the cue-ball and lined up one of the most difficult shots in cubeball. Then with little thought, he cracked the cue-ball with a force that matched the passion he was feeling. The curve on the first line was more pronounced than the programmed line set by the computer. Mickey had struck the perfect shot. Sam and Riley sat staring at the console, mesmerised by what they had just seen and eager to re-capture its perfection on replay. Only champions could play this way and it was clear to all that Mickey was developing into one. “F**king incredible,” said Johnnie. His eyes were wide. Filled with awe for Mickey’s skills and expectation with how much he could...

Now they’re reunited with each other and their mother, stepfather, and younger sisters. Q&A: Author Caroline Mitchell

I recently had the opportunity for a Q&A with Caroline Mitchell, author of ‘Paranormal Intruder’, ‘Don’t Turn Around’ and ‘Time To Die’. Bio Author of Amazon best selling true story ‘Paranormal Intruder’,  crime novel ‘Don’t Turn Around’ and most recently ‘Time To Die’. Originally from Ireland, she now lives with her husband, four children and two dogs in a pretty village on the coast of Essex. Q&A • Why do you write ? What inspired you to start writing? Hi, and thanks for having me. I started writing to spread the word about my true story, Paranormal Intruder. I did not expect to carve a career out of it, but I came to love writing so much that I could not stop. I decided to blend my personal experiences with the paranormal and police to create the DC Jennifer Knight series. Now I can’t imagine not writing. It’s a cross between a passion and a compulsion. Perhaps I should invent a new word, passpulsion! • What does your writing process entail? Do you have certain rituals? Oh yes. First I have the buy-all-the-notebooks ritual, usually Paperchase, and a nice pen. Then I have the scribble-incessant-ramblings ritual which nobody but me understands, and then I have the plotting ritual, followed by the glue-my-fingers-to-Macbook ritual where I spend the next six months putting it all together. Don’t get me started on...

Q&A With Andy Peloquin Author Of Blade Of The Destroyer

I recently had the opportunity and honour of a Q&A with Andy Peloquin, author of Dark Blade Of The Destroyer, which I read and reviewed. Bio Andy Peloquin: Lover of All Things Dark and Mysterious Andy Peloquin–a third culture kid to the core–has loved to read since before he could remember. Sherlock Holmes, the Phantom of the Opera, and Father Brown are just a few of the books that ensnared his imagination as a child. When he discovered science fiction and fantasy through the pages of writers like Edgar Rice Burroughs, J.R.R Tolkien, and Orson Scott Card, he was immediately hooked and hasn’t looked back since. Andy’s first attempt at writing produced In the Days: A Tale of the Forgotten Continent. He has learned from the mistakes he made and used the experience to produce Blade of the Destroyer, a book of which he is very proud. Reading—and now writing—is his favorite escape, and it provides him an outlet for his innate creativity. He is an artist; words are his palette. His website (http://www.andypeloquin.com) is a second home for him, a place where he can post his thoughts and feelings–along with reviews of books he finds laying around the internet. Here’s what he had to say: 1: Were you always interested in writing? Since I was very young, writing has been my only way of expressing the creativity I...
