Review: Faith And Moonlight (An Echo Of The Ascended) by Mark Gelineau, Joe King

Faith and Moonlight by Mark Gelineau, Joe King Release Date: December 15, 2015 I was given a copy by the author(s) for an honest review. Blurb Roan and Kay are orphans. A fire destroys their old life, but they have one chance to enter the School of Faith. They are given one month to pass the entry trials, but as Roan excels and Kay fails, their devotion to each other is put to the test. They swore they would face everything together, but when the stakes are losing the life they’ve always dreamed of, what will they do to stay together? What won’t they do? Buy Link: Amazon   My Review This little nugget brings to mind classical fantasy with a new voice that readers will find fresh and inviting. My only regret in reading this book is that it was over way too soon! Amazing, well developed and relatable characters combines with snappy realistic dialogue and simple prose, to make this coming of age story of orphans out to make a name for themselves, a true fantasy gem. It’s so amazing that so much takes place in less than 100 pages yet without feeling rushed. There is a clear buildup leading to the end and one gets a real feel of the characters. You get to discover the two main characters through their different POVs and I was...

Review: Sugar Skulls by Lisa Mantchev & Glenn Dallas

Sugar Skulls by Glenn Dallas and Lisa Mantchev Published by: Skyscape Publication date: November 10th 2015 Genres: Dystopia, New Adult, Science Fiction I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley for an honest review. This does not in any way affect my opinion. Synopsis: Welcome to Cyrene, a city where energy is currency and music is the lifeblood of its young citizens. Everyone lives on the grid, and the residents of the world’s largest playground are encouraged to pursue every physical and emotional pleasure imaginable. Vee is the lead singer of the Sugar Skulls, an all-girl band that is Corporate’s newest pet project. Micah haunts the city like a ghost after an overdose of a deadly illegal street drug knocks him off the grid. When Micah and Vee forge an immediate, undeniable connection, their troubled worlds collide. Trading concert stages for Cyrene’s rooftops and back alleys, they have to evade vicious thugs and Vee’s possessive manager as they unravel the mysteries connected to their dark pasts. And before the curtain falls, Micah and Vee will bring the city to its knees in their desperate bid for love, home, and a future together. This Cover is just sooo beautiful!! Blog Tour: Broken Prophecy by K.J Taylor

Hello Readers Welcome to my stop on the Broken Prophecy Blog Tour! Read on for an excerpt, my review and a Q&A with the Author!  Follow the tour by clicking on the banner and commenting to increase your chances to win in the Giveaway. Enter below!! Broken Prophecy by KJ Taylor GENRE: Fantasy BLURB: A fun adventure that satirises fantasy tropes in the style of Terry Pratchett. Ambit Afterman is the Chosen One. Born with the mark of the silver bellflower on his palm and given a magical spear, he is the one whose coming the prophecy foretold. Unfortunately, he would much rather drink beer and get laid – destiny can go f**k itself. Together with his demon friend Snarl, Ambit sets out on a mighty quest – to make sure the prophecy doesn’t come true, and avoid doing anything heroic under any circumstances. Along the way he will make polite conversation with demons, not deliver any great speeches, not train with the wise monks, and weasel his way out of adventure and into the nearest pub. But there may just be time to have cheap sex with the beautiful princess along the way. An Excerpt Once, long ago, the Land of Flowers was happy.’ The storyteller paused to look meaningfully at his audience. ‘Yes, very happy,’ he added. ‘But then the demons came. One day the sky went...
